This summer I was given the opportunity to go to a summer program in Oxford that lasted a whole month. During the month I had to take two classes in which we would be graded on and given homework, if the teacher decided. I chose Neuropsychology and Literature and the Fantastic. I chose these two because I found them very interesting, one was a branch of psychology that had to do with the more scientific aspect of it, the brain, while the other one was like having an english class but instead of books found in our normal syllabus they were books like Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Alice in Wonderland, and others. Before going I was very nervous because it would be a whole month away from family and friends in a new country, plus I would have to live with a roommate. It ended up being better than I expected, my roommate was really nice, my classes were very fun, and I met so many people from different cultures and backgrounds. Not only that but the program itself gave us many new opportunities. We got to go experience different Shakespeare plays the british way in the grounds of collages that formed part of the Oxford University, we took trips to London and Broughton Castle. Overall I saw my strengths and the areas i needed to grow according to how to live in a different country going to University. I undertook this challenge so that I would feel better prepared after graduation and I was also able to learn new things in the classes that I was part of.
